2 large apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala work well)
1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
1 tbsp sugar or sweetener of choice (optional)
Directions
- Set the oven to 225°F (110°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Core the apples if desired. Use a sharp knife or mandoline to thinly slice the apples into 1/8-inch rounds. The thinner the slices, the crispier the chips will be.
- Lay the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets, ensuring they do not overlap.
- If desired, sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over the apple slices for added sweetness and flavor.
- Place the baking sheets in the oven and bake for 1.5 to 2 hours. Flip the apple slices halfway through to ensure even baking. They should be golden and crisp.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool completely to crisp up further. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
