2 ripe pears (Bartlett or Anjou work well)
8 ounces of cheese (such as goat cheese, brie, or blue cheese)
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or ¼ teaspoon dried thyme)
1 tablespoon chopped walnuts (optional)
Crackers or sliced baguette (for serving)
Directions
- Wash the pears, cut them in half, and remove the seeds. Slice each half into thin wedges.
- If using a cheese block, cut it into small squares or slices that will fit well on top of the pear wedges.
- On each pear wedge, place a piece of cheese.
- Drizzle a small amount of honey over the cheese and sprinkle with fresh thyme and walnuts if using.
- Arrange the assembled pear and cheese bites on a platter alongside crackers or sliced baguette.
